Art details · Episode 10
The Anhinga on the 4 of Diamonds is a classic Florida sight: a dark bird perched over the water with its wings spread wide to dry.
It is nicknamed the 'snakebird' because it swims with only its long, thin neck above the water.
Its feathers are not waterproof. That helps it sink and hunt underwater, but it has to sun itself dry afterwards.
It spears fish with its sharp bill, then tosses them into the air to swallow them head first.
